Fair Trade thanks
Thank you to everyone who supported the three Fair Trade stalls at church and the two at Rosemary Milligan’s house for Fair Trade Fortnight and Lent. We have returned £934.70 to the One World Shop and, having received £50 in donations and 5% of the sales, have been able to send £150 to support Fr David Cullen’s work in Zambia.
Many thanks,
Rosemary Hayes-Milligan
Offertory Collections/ Gift Aid
New boxes of envelopes are available from this week at the back of the church for the next tax year starting on 6th April 2014. If you are currently using envelopes, there will a box for next year with your name on it. If you would like to start donating weekly either by envelope or by standing order, please contact Laura Cooper at greg_laura@blueyonder.co.uk or on 07951724114.
Donating via envelope or standing order means that if you are a UK taxpayer, for every £1 that you donate the church receives £1.25. In addition as a UK taxpayer you can claim any amount donated as a deduction against your tax bill at the end of the tax year. All you have to do is sign a form that says any amounts given are to be treated as gift aid. It is then up to you how much you wish to donate and how often. More people donate these days via standing order as the bank then does all the hard work – no need to remember money or envelopes. I will be at the back of the church after mass if you would like a form or envelopes.
Fair Trade Stall
There will be a Fair Trade stall on Sunday 23rd to display the Easter gifts and eggs there was not room for during Fair Trade Fortnight .
