Tuesday 25th March which is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord in the Catholic Calendar is a special day of prayers for life from conception to its natural death, of prayers for expecting parents, for institutions and individuals who support and help the pro-life fundamental option.

Tell us what Easter means to you and win a Fairtrade Easter Egg! To mark Fairtrade Fortnight the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh have a number of Easter eggs to give away,, kindly donated by the Meaningful Chocolate Company. To decide who to give them to, we would like to hear from children and young people what Easter means to them.

Liturgy groups, youth groups and families in parishes are invited to produce a sentence telling what Easter means to them. The best sentence will receive a Fairtrade Sharing box from the Meaningful Chocolate Company containing 20 mini eggs and booklets telling the story of the First Easter and the resurrection of Jesus. The best runner up will receive a large Easter egg and chocolate bar for the group to share or give to their priests!

Competition entries must be in by Monday 17th March, and prize winners will be informed before Friday 28th March.

Congratulations to P. 3 Children

Congratulations to P. 3 Children:
They have celebrated and experienced their FIRST CONFESSION on Sat. 15th March 2014. We pray that this encounter with Jesus the Good Shepherd will inspire them to appreciate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and so that through this sacramental experience of God’s mercy and forgiveness they will come to love God even more and be happy with the gift of grace in their hearts.


Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held at 10.00am on Sat. 22 March 2014 in St. John’s.
Regular Sacrament of Reconciliation at St. John’s from 5.15pm till 5.45pm, before 6pm Vigil Mass every Saturday.
