Charity Ball

A charity ball is being organized by the Knights of Malta Saturday 25 March 2017. The ball will raise money for two good causes: the International Disabled Camp 2018, a camp for disabled children, and Dial a Journey, which provides door to door transport services to those who have mobility problems and cannot access public transport. The cost of the ball is £90 per person. The dress code is Black Tie. If you are interested, please contact Rosemary and Andrew Milligan.

Parish Project

Thank you to all those of you who completed a parish project nomination form. At the meeting of the parish council on Tuesday, your votes (of which there were many) were all counted and after review, I am pleased to announce that Fr Nikolas Maria is to become our new parish project beneficiary for the next 3 years. All donations made for ‘Parish Project’, including monies collected in ‘Jessie’s box’ will now be due to Fr Nikolas as described towards the end of last year.

Young Adults’ Group

Just a note that the Young Adults’ Group re-starts on Wednesday 8 February at 7pm in the Café. Fr Benedict Hardy from Pluscarden Abbey will be with us to speak about the Benedictine way of life and prayer, so do please put the date in your diary and, if you’re under 35, come along and learn more about the Faith and meet other young Catholics.

Advance notice that we will be taking, again, a group of our young people (aged 9-14) to Ampleforth Abbey for four days of fun whilst also learning about the faith. The dates are 17-20 July, so please mark them in you diary an encourage/insist that your children come along. Booking forms will be available in due course.

Next Cathedral Coloquium – Monday 6 February

Advance notice that the next Cathedral Coloquium will be given by His Excellency, Archbishop Bernardito Auza, the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations. Archbishop Auza will be in Scotland to celebrate International Interfaith Week, and we are delighted that he has agreed to come to the Cathedral to speak to us about Interfaith Dialogue – a really important theme in our own times. The talk will begin at 7pm and will be followed by drinks and canapés in the Café Camino. Please put the date in your diaries and please pass the word on. It promises to be a stimulating evening.

Café Camino have started offering a “Friday Fish” special! This Friday coming the café will be serving Scottish Haddock and Pancetta Fishcakes served on a Bed of Salad with Dill Mayo. 
Please note also that Café Camino are now doing Loyalty Cards for customers, a double reason to come by—and bring a friend!
