Lent Survival Packs

Lent is a time of spiritual challenge, uniting our own sacrifices with Christ’s life-giving sacrifice. This Lent, Aid to the Church in Need are asking parishes, schools and groups to support refugee families in Syria and Iraq with Survival Packs – emergency aid to help them until it is safe for them to rebuild their lives and communities. For further information and how to donate please see www.acnuk.org

For those of you who are already registered for Gift Aid and are using the weekly gift aid envelopes, I am pleased to tell you that your new set of envelopes for the 2017/18 tax year is now waiting for collection at the back of the Church.  With the fast approaching start to the new tax year, this is an ideal time to think about registering for Gift Aid, if you have not already done so.  If you would like to find out more, please speak to Caroline Reid or Mary Buchan who can answer your questions as well as help you to complete a simple registration form.  Please note that registration forms and details are also available on the notice board in the Parish Rooms and from the parish website.

Young Adults’ Group

This week we welcome Sr Roseann Reddy of the Sisters of the Gospel of Life who will speak on ‘Choose Life: Building a Culture of Life.’ Sister is a fantastic speaker whose work involves the evangelisation of our culture so that all life is respected. If you are under 35, please do come along to Café Camino on Wednesday at 7pm to hear her speak and to meet other young Catholics interested in the Faith

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross

As part of your Lenten practices, you might consider coming along to Stations of the Cross on the Thursdays of Lent at 7pm. This beautiful – and short – service of meditation on the Passion of Christ, is a very helpful way of calling to mind the saving Death of our Lord Jesus during this season of penance. It is also another great tradition of the Church to which we should introduce our children, so please do make the effort to bring them along too.

Mass for Vocations

Dear Reverend Fathers and Friends,

If you have space in your newsletter for this Sunday, I would be so grateful if you could please very kindly mention our Mass for Vocations which will be held on Monday 13th March at 7.30 pm at St. Joseph’s House, 43 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh.

Everyone is most welcome to join us in praying for this special intention.

Thank you.

God Bless you.
