Gift Aid 2017/18

Money

Money

For those of you who are already registered for Gift Aid and are using the weekly gift aid envelopes, I am pleased to tell you that your new set of envelopes for the 2017/18 tax year is now waiting for collection at the back of the Church.  With the fast approaching start to the new tax year, this is an ideal time to think about registering for Gift Aid, if you have not already done so.  If you would like to find out more, please speak to Caroline Reid or Mary Buchan who can answer your questions as well as help you to complete a simple registration form.  Please note that registration forms and details are also available on the notice board in the Parish Rooms (and on the website)

Thinking about Priesthood

Do you think that God might be calling you to be a priest? If so, Priests for Scotland are holding a day for enquirers on Saturday 6th May at the University of Glasgow’s Catholic Chaplaincy Centre. For more information and to book a place, see Fr Patrick or Fr Nick.

SCIAF Wee Boxes

If you have collected money in a Wee Box this Lent, we will be collecting these at the back of the church today and next Sunday 7th May. We will then count what you have collected and send the monies on to SCIAF on your behalf.

Faith Summertime 17th-20th July 2017

Ampleforth Abbey

Ampleforth Abbey

Places are filling up fast for this year’s trip for children aged 9-15 to Ampleforth Abbey. It guarantees to be a week of fun, whilst also learning about the Faith. The holiday camp runs from 17-20 July and costs £160, though subsidies are available. See Fr Nick or Fr Patrick for a consent form.

Change in Cathedral Daily Mass Times

For your information, daily Mass times in the Cathedral will change from 15th May. For that date, Mass will be at 8am, 12.45pm and 6pm (in Polish). The Saturday schedule remains unchanged and the schedule here in St Andrew’s remains unchanged. It’s good to note that the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the time between the Masses, so, if you’re passing by, it might be an idea to pop in and spend some time with the Lord in prayer.

Fair Trade

Fair Trade

Thank you to everyone who supported our Fair Trade stalls, either at St Andrew’s or the Milligan house. We have paid just under £690 for goods sold to the One World Shop. The 5% we are permitted to keep, plus donations, has enabled us to send £150 to the treasurer of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) to support Fr David Cullen in his work in Zambia.
